kudoodle privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
kudoodle is a browser extension that saves images you choose into a private collection on your computer. We (the developer) run no servers of our own and collect no analytics. Everything you keep stays on your device. The only personal information we ever receive is what you give when you buy a license (see "Buying a license").
What kudoodle stores, and where
When you press Keep (or "Keep image", "Keep all on this page", or Keep crop), kudoodle stores in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB), on your device only:
- the image file you chose to keep, or only the part you cropped, with any edits you made (rotation, flip, brightness, contrast, saturation, black & white)
- the address and title of the page it came from, and the image's own address. On an image search results page (Google Images, Bing Images), that is the result's original page, read from the link the search page already shows for that result, so the real source gets the credit; kudoodle also notes which search it was found through
- the date you kept it, its size, its color palette, and any tags you add
- the credit the page or the image file states for it: creator name and link, license, copyright notice, and whether the creator opted out of AI use (you can correct any of these)
- which boards it's in, and small settings such as the board new keeps go into
This is "website content" and "web browsing activity" in Chrome Web Store terms. It is used only to show, search and export your collection. It is never sent to us or anyone else, never sold, and never used for advertising.
To show the Keep and Crop buttons, kudoodle runs on the pages you visit and notices when your pointer is over an image. Nothing about a page is stored or sent until you press Keep or Crop. Opening the popup counts the images on the current page so it can offer "Keep all"; that count is not stored. While you crop, the selection is held in the browser's temporary session storage and cleared when you keep or cancel.
Find similar runs on your device
Find similar compares images with a small image-recognition model that ships inside the extension and runs on your computer. kudoodle stores a numeric "fingerprint" of each kept image for this (never for images whose creator opted out of AI use). No image, fingerprint or address is sent anywhere, and the model is never downloaded from the internet.
Buying a license
Downloading your saved and cropped images (as a .zip with credits), using more than three boards, and saving studies (as a PNG, or copied for Canva), and making WhatsApp stickers (made on your device) need a kudoodle Plus license. Licenses are sold through Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record:
- At checkout, Dodo Payments collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details, processes the payment and handles taxes. Card details go only to Dodo Payments and its payment processors; we never see them. Their privacy policy applies to checkout: https://dodopayments.com/privacy-policy
- We receive your name, email address, country, what you bought and when, and your license key, so we can send you your license, help you if something goes wrong, and handle refunds. We don't use them for anything else, never sell them, and don't send marketing email unless you ask for it.
- In the extension, kudoodle stores your license key on your device. To check that the key is valid, it sends the key and a device label ("kudoodle for Chrome") to Dodo Payments' license service when you activate it about once a week afterwards, and when you move Plus to another browser. No images, page addresses or collection data are ever included.
We keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, then delete them.
When information leaves your browser
- If you click Open in Google Lens: kudoodle opens Google Lens in a new tab with that image's address. From then on, Google's privacy policy applies to that page.
- If you have a license: the license check described above.
Nothing else ever leaves your browser.
Your control and your rights
- Remove any image or board from the gallery at any time.
- Uninstalling kudoodle deletes everything it stored on your device, including your license key on that device.
- If you bought a license, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your purchase information (except what the law requires us to keep) by writing to the contact address below. We reply within 30 days.
- If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, we'll tell you in the extension before it takes effect.
